CERSD Capital Projects Levy 2025 - Maintaining what we have. Special Election February 11, 2025

Improving safety, updating classroom spaces, modernizing learning technology, and increasing access for all.

This February, local voters will be asked to renew a 3-year Capital Projects Levy. The proposed levy renews a previously approved local funding measure that supports facilities updates at a new amount.

If approved, the 2025 renewal levy would fund the following projects that allow the district to meet the needs of its students, make meaningful safety updates, and maintain Cle Elum-Roslyn facilities:

Safety and Security

  • Installing enhanced safety and security surveillance systems, and modern lockdown technologies and communications systems.

  • Adding air conditioning to elementary/middle school campus. The 1994 building currently has no cooling and safety protocols prohibit opening windows or propping doors.

  • Upgrading traffic flow designs, including improved and safer bus lanes and pedestrian walkways and repaved parking areas.

  • Track & field maintenance: Resurfacing of track and improved throwing event areas. The track was built in 2012 with an 8 year warranty. The surface is forming sinkholes, and urgently needs to be addressed and repaired.

Updating Learning Spaces

  • Modernizing specialty classrooms, such as science labs, gyms, and special education spaces.

  • Updating technology equipment and infrastructure used by students and staff. Relocating key fiber optic infrastructure and cooling for technology closets and racks.

  • Replacing classroom furniture, much of which is nearly 40 years old.

Improving Access

  • Constructing covered walkways for portable classrooms and new preschool facilities.

  • Implementing Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance projects to ensure accessibility for all students and the community.

  • Playground accessibility improvements.
