What is the Safety Study Hall?
The Safety Study Hall is a library of information and resources on several important health and safety issues for schools, students, and families/caregivers. Created by the Washington State Department of Health in partnership with the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction and other organizations, the Safety Study Hall is a place to start learning. It is a part of the Schools site hosted by the Department of Health.
The Safety Study Hall currently focuses on safety topics outlined by the Washington State Legislature in HB 1230: prevention strategies related to substance use, and the safe storage of prescription/over-the-counter medication, firearms, and ammunition. They have researched federal, state, local and community resources to find answers to common questions about these issues. They are committed to continuing to add resources in other topic areas over time.
