Sarah Houseberg has been selected as the Principal of Cle Elum-Roslyn High School and Swiftwater Learning Center. Principal Houseberg has been filling the role as the Interim Principal at Cle Elum-Roslyn High School while still overseeing Swiftwater Learning Center this year. She was selected after the Superintendent interviewed staff and students of Cle Elum-Roslyn High School.
Superintendent John Belcher said, “being a High School Principal requires a wide variety of skills and talents. Sarah has demonstrated quickly she is a capable and talented administrator but her greatest asset is her ability to connect with young people. Sarah has done an exceptional job of listening to staff and student concerns. She is responsive and a capable decision maker. She heard the need for more rigor and added a variety of college credit earning courses in her first 100 days.”
Upon being selected, Principal Houseberg said, “It is an honor to be named the principal of Cle Elum-Roslyn High School. When I accepted the interim position in the spring, I was nervous because I had been away for a few years, but in true Warrior fashion, the students and staff welcomed me back and reminded me that I belong here. I am extremely excited to be a part of the future of Cle Elum- Roslyn High School and continue the work with Swiftwater Learning Center.”
Superintendent Belcher also said, “ Under Sarah’s leadership we expect to see more variety in coursework and a deep commitment towards student and staff well being and a positive school culture.”
