The Cle Elum-Roslyn School District is excited to announce Sarah Day as the new Principal of Swiftwater Learning Center! Principal Day brings a wealth of experience, having served as a Director in our district for over five years. During her time with us, she has overseen the Cle Elum-Roslyn High School Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs, the Career Center, Scholarships, District Counseling, Communications, and Community Relations. Along with her new position as Swiftwater Principal, Sarah will also be continuing her role as Director of Career and College Readiness.
Before joining our district, Sarah worked as a School Counselor for 14 years, beginning her career in Ellensburg before life took her family to California, where she worked in a small, affluent town in the Bay Area. Her love for the Pacific Northwest brought her back to Washington, where she worked at her old middle school in Renton. Although she valued her experiences in those places, Sarah always dreamed of living in Kittitas County and has cherished every moment since moving here almost seven years ago.
Over the past few years, Sarah has been closely involved with the Big Picture Learning program at Swiftwater, watching it grow and thrive. Upon being selected as Principal, she shared, “I’m so excited to join the Swiftwater team. The Big Picture program is so unique, and I love that it allows students to learn through doing. This school offers students the ability to learn through job shadows and internships, and I can’t wait to work with our local businesses and industry partners to expand these opportunities.”
Superintendent John Belcher said, "We are delighted to announce Sarah Day as the new Principal of Swiftwater Learning Center. With her extensive experience and deep connection to our district, Sarah is perfectly positioned to lead and expand the Big Picture Learning program. Her enthusiasm for enhancing student opportunities and her continued role in Career and College Readiness will drive our district's success forward."
We are thrilled and look forward to the exciting future she will help shape for our students!
