Dear Cle Elum-Roslyn Parents and Community Members,
This afternoon (12/2/22) students at Cle Elum-Roslyn High School notified Administrators of concerning posts on social media regarding the police activity at the east end of Cle Elum. Our staff did a wonderful job working with students who were concerned about what they were reading. Administrators communicated an update to all staff district wide regarding the situation. Teachers were encouraged to send students in need of support to speak to counselors who were available in all buildings.
We recognize that this situation may cause additional stress for some of our families and students. Below are resources that may be helpful.
- Communicating With Your Child During Times of Stress
- How To Help Children And Teens Manage Their Stress
- Common Sense Media articles for parents on managing social media.
As always, counseling support will be available for students in all buildings on Monday, December 5th. In addition to School Counselors, our school-based therapist from Comprehensive Health will also be available.
If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to the building counselors.
Elementary School Counselor, Margo McLeod
Middle School Counselor, Abbey Howell
High School Counselor, Diane Januszkiewicz
We are fortunate to have wonderful mental health professionals who do a great job connecting with students and supporting our families.
Be Well.
John Belcher
Superintendent
